Job Readiness Classes:

Job Opportunity Boot Camp (JOB-C) – provides training on the skills you need to land the
job you want. This intensive workshop will cover job search, resume writing, interview skills and practice, job skills and retention.

o Day 1 – Job Search and Resume Writing
o Day 2 – Resume Writing Workshop
o Day 3 – Interview and Self-Presentation
o Day 4 – Mock Interview and Practice
o Day 5 – Job Skills and Retention
o 2-3 hours/day
 Job Search
 Networking
 Resume Writing
 Cover Letter Writing
 Interview Skills and Self-Presentation
 Mock Interview, feedback and practice
 Job Skills and Retention Training Course Options:
o 1 hour – cover reading a paystub, what to expect when starting a job, I-9 and W-4, and
skills for keeping a job.
o 1.5 hours – Positivity, communication, handling constructive feedback, honesty and
integrity
o 3 – 4 hours – Probationary period, positivity, communication, handling constructive
feedback, honesty and integrity, time management, respect, leaving a job well

Computer Course Options and Descriptions:
 Computers for Beginners: (2 hours/class is preferred, these can be bundled or standalone)
o Intro to Computers – learn the basic parts of the computer, terminology, and how to get
started using Windows Operating system.

o Intro to Internet – learn common internets terminology, how to navigate on the internet
and how to use a search engine.

o Intro to Email – learn basic terminology, how to create, check and maintain your email
account. Plus learn how to send, reply and attach to an email. Email etiquette.

o Intro to Internet Safety – learn terminology associated with safety on the internet, best
practices for staying safe and basics of preventing viruses.

 Introduction to Microsoft: (2 – 4 hrs/class is preferred, these can be bundled or standalone)
o Intro to Word – Learn the basics of working in the Microsoft Word environment, how to
create, modify and save a document.

o Intro to Excel – Learn the basics of the Excel environment, become familiar with the
specific cursors, learn basics of formatting and adding common functions (sum, average).

o Intro to PowerPoint—Learn the basics of the PowerPoint environment, how to create
slides, edit text, add pictures, add designs and how to view a presentation.
